Flash-Tail Clouser (Uploaded from: Doug Martin)
Not really a true "flash tail", which would have many more strands of flash, I prefer to tie them sparse for local socal waters. It mainly differs from a standard clouser in that a small amount of buck-tail is tied in, then the eyes are attached, and then the buck-tail is wrapped with diamond braid before adding the standard bunch of white buck-tail that is tied in over the eyes. My go-to corbina fly, it has also caught a number of other species including Brown and Rainbow trout. Hook: Mustad 34007 #6 - #2 Thread: Danville 0/3 red waxed Eyes: Spirit River with holographic eyes Top Wing: Olive buck-tail Flash: Holographic Silver Body: Silver Diamond Braid Bottom Wing: White buck-tail
